Hello,

Have the FCV295 and looking for a transducer to be
able to see fish on the bottom till 500 meters.
Also wish to install it in a wet box inside the
hull. What power and frequency do you recommend?

Hey mate I have furuno 1100l and run a 50 and
200 kHz 2 kw rubber trannys on a 7 m platey and
can see fish 600 m off Brisbane no worries at all

Hi jo great information as usual..I had a very similar sounder set up, except i was given a bum steer and ended up fitting a 3kw 50..That boat is now sold, and am currently looking at exploring my area and old fishing spots.As you know i was fishing with drop lines, and am fed up with baiting 3000 hooks day in and out. I just purchased a 23 foot harris cat so i can get to my grounds nice and fast, exploring and mapping again. I just fitted up a simrad with the new 1kw chirp transducer for a trial experiment. My plan is to fish some new areas and just use electric reels to hopefully see if there is enough fish stocks here worth starting up again.

I have a few sounder images that i would like to post up ..Whats the easiest way of displaying them on the forum
